Welcome to Chateau Orman! 🌿 Everything you need to know for a relaxed stay in the Macedonian countryside. If anything is unclear, just ask your host.

📍 Getting Here

Chateau Orman is in the village of Orman, about 10 minutes by car from Ohrid centre. Search for “Distillery Balaklija” in Google Maps and it will guide you right to us.

Arriving after 3:00 PM? If no one is at reception, we will send you check-in instructions — and you can call or text your host anytime at +389 76 901 001.

Travelling without a car? Get in touch and we will be happy to recommend the best way to reach us.

🏡 Make Yourself at Home

You are welcome to enjoy the yard, garden and outdoor seating areas during your stay. If you would like to prepare something yourself, our shared kitchen and shared refrigerator are available to all guests.

🥐 Breakfast

Breakfast is served buffet style, prepared with products from our own estate and local producers.

If breakfast is not included in your reservation, you are still very welcome to join us for €7 per person per day — just let your host know.

🍷 Tastings & Distillery Tours

Our property is home to Distillery Balaklija, where we produce our own rakija and fruit liqueurs. On reservation, we can arrange a tasting featuring:

  • Homemade rakija
  • Macedonian wines
  • Homemade fruit liqueurs
  • Homemade cheeses and other local food
  • Seasonal and traditional Macedonian specialties

We also offer tours of the distillery and the premises, where you can learn about our production, ingredients and traditions. Tastings and tours are by reservation only — ask your host during your stay, or contact us in advance at +389 76 901 001 or info@chateauorman.com.

🐾 Travelling with Your Pet

Chateau Orman is pet-friendly, and we are happy to welcome your four-legged companions.

  • Please tell us in advance what type of pet you are bringing, its size and, if possible, its breed, so we can prepare the most suitable room.
  • Let your host know about any special needs your pet may have.
  • Any damage caused by a pet to the room, furniture, equipment or other property will be charged accordingly.

🌙 Quiet Time

Please respect quiet time from 11:00 PM onwards, so everyone can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and a good night’s sleep.

During the summer, Ohrid occasionally hosts festivals, concerts and evening celebrations. Depending on the event and the wind, you may sometimes hear faint music from the city in the evening. It is usually very subtle at Chateau Orman, but we like to let you know in advance.
